Frequently asked questions

How often are prices updated?

Prices are scraped from participating Panama City supermarkets regularly. Each product listing shows the date it was last observed so you always know how fresh the data is.

Which supermarkets are covered?

BasketRoute currently covers major chains in Panama City including Rey, Super 99, Riba Smith, El Machetazo, and PriceSmart. We are adding more stores as the catalog grows.

How accurate is the savings calculation?

Savings are calculated from the scraped shelf prices at the time of your last data sync. They do not account for in-store promotions, loyalty discounts, or daily specials. Treat them as a reliable estimate, not a guarantee.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is needed. Your basket and preferences are saved locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server unless you choose to share a route.

How does travel cost work?

Travel cost is estimated from the straight-line distance between your home location and each store you add to the route. You can adjust the per-kilometre cost and extra-stop penalty in the Preferences panel to match your actual transport costs.

Can I save my shopping list?

Your basket is automatically saved in your browser's local storage between visits. You can also share a snapshot of your current route using the share button on the results panel.
